  • Replaced sump pump and put in HEPA filter at 105 Avenel St.
  • Airtec came to fix the cooler in the wet bar area.
  • Airtec also repaired the A.C. unit in the radio room that was leaking
  • Bathroom counter tops will be replaced in June
  • Complete Security Systems addressed the sump pump was giving a report. They repaired the signal.
  • Alexatek repaired the washing machine and looked at the dryer

  • Received $1,347.50 Fire Zone Reimbursement – Township of Woodbridge for December 2020
  • Received $ 9,725.00 Fire Zone reimbursement for 2021. That will be higher but outstanding 2021 summons will be filed in with 2022 calendar year.
  • Received $1000.00 penalty from Forest Shipping – 5AB Terminal Way. Blocked egress. Continuing nature violations.
  • Received $625.00 penalty, reduced from $1,250.00. Silencing system, failure to evacuate, tampering with sprinkler system.
  • All Bureau staff in ongoing virtual CEU training with Division
  • 2 Imminent Hazards posted:
  • Savino Del Bene – failure to evacuate, silencing system prior to arrival, tampering with sprinkler system.
  • Forest Shipping – Blocked egress, continuing nature violations
  • All scans have been scanned and are on file. Closet has been cleared out. Back room in Hall, all archived scans have been scanned and on file. N process of destroying all fire reports from 1995 – 2011.Machine works phenomenally.

  • Mutual Aid vs. Automatic Aid calls questions
  • May 3, 2022, Firefighters will receive proclamations From Mayr McCormac for the McKinley Ave. Fire
  • Looking for motor for the Zodiac Boat
  • Looking to purchase equipment for flooded roadways

 

CAPT. BARRY

  • Mutual Aid protocol – looking to finalize. Will follow existing protocol for now. Policy will need to be re – written.
  • Need at least one radio to be able to get the Perth Amboy frequency. Comm. Addie will look into getting this done.
  • Capt. Adam Karlin had asked if David is in the office could he help with re – calls if needed.
  • Would like to know if they can attend the presentation at Woodbridge High School about the Seton Hall Fire.
  • FF. Mizak – Tablet charging base in 5-1 no longer works. Wireless Communication does not service these.

•    Waiting on mobile charging units for the apparatus 
•    Ordered 8 more radios to be installed in apparatus, should be completed by July 2022.
•    Would like to have all new radios by next year.

•    Received Firefighter Mizak and Finley’s gear back after having it repaired 
•    Had a phone conference with FireDex regarding the jacket
•    Approached about Safety Glasses. There are 2 options that will work.
•    Absolute repaired the noise coming from 5-4
•    Received check for the totaled Fire Official’s vehicle 
•    Still waiting on the new dryer to come in 
•    Have received an inquiry for 5-3

•    Received $28,702.39 2021 2nd quarter LEA rebate from the state. That averages $114,000.00 for the year. The anticipated was $ 100,000.00.
•    Received $2500.00 penalty from Dollar Tree 1932 St. Georges Ave. Failure to abate violations.
•    Donated 12 smoke detectors to senior residents of the Fire District at the Avenel Golden Circle Senior Club.

•    Solar panels – permits still coming in, numerous inspections conducted

  • CEU classes are out from Division. Will look to sign up virtual first.
  • Juvenile Fire Setter update – Chris one new ongoing case. Working with Fire Official Nordtviet on completion. LeGrand Park incendiary fire.

  • Automatic aid. Met with Chief Golden and Port Reading. Came up with grid for coverage

  • Feb 15 fire at pool warehouse – 3 man recall
  • Feb 16 fire – 3 man recall. Had one injured career Firefighter
  • St. Patrick’s Day Parade March 13th would like to request engines
  • Discussing awards for the rescue at the S. McKinley fire

  • SCBA cylinders keep breaking from turning too hard

    • 64 summonses issued, numerous warnings
    • 19 summonses issued during the standard off – hour enforcement
  • Scanner for site plans is in full operation with the goal to be all paperless in next several months
  • As in the past, we have booked the bounce house for field day at AMS
  • DFO Neroda has 1 active juvenile fire setter
  • Map Books / Hydrants – Chris. Will look into doing a full update in the spring as projects come to completion.

  • Solar Panels Franks – Large amount of CO’s are still coming in during the winter months.

  • 3 man recall
  • Jan. 13th 2 man recall for fire in District 2
  • Jan. 19th 3 man recall for the fire in Ideal
  • Would like to change the Career Captains call signs
  • Firefighter Finley would like to attend Fire II
  • Would like to purchase a large new Halogen bar (Comm. Mizak would like to hold off for now)
  • Lost one air bottle during the Ideal Mobile Home fire
  • Met with Chief in Dist.1. We will be covering part of Dist. 1 for reported smoke and or structure fire.
  • Met with Dist. 9, we will help cover part of District for reported smoke and or structure fires.

  • O2 Bags not in service yet, waiting on quotes for nasal canuel
  • Winter hats, hats are on back order. Will look into ordering hats on Amazon
