  • Imminent Hazard issued; Enterprise 1245 St. Georges Ave. failure to maintain a working fire alarm system after 18 day reinspection.
  • 5-3-7 passed on – line training – Retrofit 2 sessions
  • Knox Key status (note – Board and Bureau agreed to limit keys to as minimal as possible in 2014 after 2013 Chief lost key and we hired more inspectors and keys were removed to give them.
  • 5-3-7 out of town on vacation 7/13 – 7/20

  • Fire Calls for June
  • Chief and Fire Fighter Matt Mizak met with Comm. Addie regarding Facebook posts. Meeting went well and protocols have been established.
  • Sept. 10 there will be a 20year 9-11 event at Woodbridge High School. Requesting an Engine.
  • August 15 will be the Township Officers picnic at Avenel Park.
  •  Still trying to get the 2 new Firefighters enrolled into the Fire Academy.
  • Met with Colonia Fire Depts. Officers and Chief regarding the protocols changing in 2019. They were not aware of the changes and would like to go back to the originals.
  • Met with Dist. 1 Chief Golden on July 19 regarding a shared services program to respond to parts of their District as automatic aid
  • Chief met with District 5 Captains to discuss the possible Shared Service Agreement with District 1.
  • Township Officers will be holding the E Town Drill in District 5 in October.
  • Indian Business Association will be having a parade, would like an Engine. They would like to celebrate First Responders.
  • Hillsboro Firefighter passed away. Would like to bring an Engine for the funeral.

  • Asked about the new Exec. Order signed by Gov. Murphy regarding changing incident command protocol.

  • Boat Drill @ Oros Park. A few concerns.
  • Working on getting Prieto and Galvez enrolled in FF1. Middletown Fire Academy might have openings for July 1 – Nov. 3.
  • Colonia dual response – had some questions about how they are getting dispatched
  • Have some concerns over the wording on Avenel FD Facebook page

  • Cancelled live burn training last month, it has been rescheduled
  • New member resigned, still needs to return badge
  • Two Officers have been qualified on 5-2
  • Williams interested in driver training (will get him started)
  • Township Officers meeting. Talked about running an I200 class
  • Next drill is in June.
  • Prieto and Galvez interested in Fire I. Middlesex Fire Academy is backed up. Somerset Academy is also backed up.
  • Chief will be out of town June 9 – 16, Chief’s car will go to Asst. Chief Strain
  • Member has missed live burn and hardly made any calls
  • Inquired about new Radios being put in service
  • Had concerns regarding Mutual Aid

  • Roof is going out to bid on April 15th and will be due back on April 20th. Will take 60 days from start to finish from acceptance of the bid.

  • 5-3-8 Neroda attended and passed 3 hour tested training – Fire Flow Analysis
  • Amazon – 301 Blair Rd. shut down 4/5/2021 from 0700 – 2300 hours for preventative work on electrical machines. No power or generator. Will approve lack of protection systems and will be required to conduct fire watch with members of Fire Prevention Bureau and Fire Department.
  • Entire Mobile Home complex is now designated a Fire Lane, throughout all inner and outer roadways. New solid striping and language on ground makes it clear, where to and not to park. Receiving numerous complaints about vehicles parking in the middle of road before fire zone designation. Should make apparatus maneuvering easier.
  • Responded to Ford District # 7 for mutual aid, at WPD request. Issued Imminent Hazard to Fire 7 Ice – 85 Lafayette Rd.; Dangerous toxic fumes inside structure. Occupancy issues.
  • Hydrants/Map Books – Chris will look to do an update in the next few weeks.
  • Pre – Planning – Progress
  • Solar Panels – Permits still coming in, numerous inspections conducted.

  • Chief and Dan Mizak took a class on extrication when wheelchairs are involved
  • FIT tests have been completed. Wisol’s leave of absence is up.
  • Easter Bunny parade will be Saturday, March 27, 2021 (8 guys have signed up)

 

DAVID EIDSON, BUSINESS ADMINISTATOR

  • Edmunds Program – received proposal $10,000.00 start up cost. Operating cost about $4200.00 annually.  Will budget for this in next years budget
  • Shipped 2 tablets to Pete Tom to be updated. One was completed and sent back.
