  • Quick turn around with 5-4
  • 5-3 – Absolute came out to fix the siren
  • 5-2 ran out of the fuel additive.  It was refilled and Absolute came out to reset the computer
  • Chris’s car – no update as of yet
  • Quotes for Ladder testing from Diversified. They will call to schedule sometime in March
  • Gear – Received Fire Dex gear. Will be moving forward with Fire Dex.

  • Received $2,212.50 Fire Zone Reimbursement – Township of Woodbridge September/October 2020
  • Received $1500.00 penalty – TJ Maxx 901 St. Georges Ave. Blocked exits, blocked exit access. Third party complaint. Continuing Nature violation.
  • Received $1250.00 penalty – Overnight Logistics. Blocked exits, dangerous conditions, storage of hazardous materials.
  • 5-3-7 received IAAI – FIT recertification. Expires April 2024.
  • Juvenile Fire Setter update – Chris – Nothing to report

 

 

AYMAN ELBAYAR, FIRE CHIEF 2020

 

 

  • Calls for the month of February
  • Three man recall on Feb. 18th from 4:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m.
  • Firefighter Deshefy resigned
  • Wisol percentages are down. Had a meeting with him. Requested a 30 day leave of absence.
  • Jerry Sternesky remains on light duty. Cleared respiratory test for the Fire Dept.
  • Meeting with Pastor Bob went very well
  • Have not heard about Fire Academy classes for the new members
  • New member Roy Williams has been sworn in and received new gear.
  • Asked about possibly doing a drive by for Easter.
  • March 17th drill rescheduled for March 10th.
  • FIT test machine – No updates
  • Dodgeball match with Colonia FD scheduled Sat. Feb. 27th. Will take an engine with us to respond to calls.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

DAVID EIDSON, BUSINESS ADMINISTATOR

  • Resolution to decommission un – used equipment
  • Update – Police & Fire Retirement system
  • Psychiatric services have been set up for incoming fire fighters
  • Dennis (Cameras) coming on Sat. Feb. 26th to clean out the cooling towers
  • March 2nd meeting with Union regarding the contract
  • March 4th firefighter candidates will be coming in for interviews

KEITH ADDIE SECRETARY

  • All the new radio equipment is in for the 5 radios that were purchased. Working on getting them programmed.
  • Been working on Township grant for radio upgrades. All paperwork has been completed for the grant.
  • Been in touch with Woodbridge Fire Dept. They will be the lead agency.
  • The (5) new radios – 1 will go to the Chief and the other 4 will be in the Radio Room for the guys to use.

 

BRUCE MIZAK, 2ND VICE PRESIDENT 

  • Chris’s car went to Bell Ford. Known issue with spark plug. Replaced most plugs. One plug was stuck.
  • Gear issues, continue to work with NJ Fire. Received all the gear. Three sets have issued. Those were sent out to Globe.
  •  NJ Fire has given us a free set of Fire Dex gear. Should have jacket by Feb. 17th.
  • Air Dryer was installed with new air lines

  • Grease Trap- the sink is not used often so everything settles in the bottom causing the odor.
  • Met with Vaughn Group, they suggested getting the vent piped out to the roof
  • Roof replacement estimate. Prevailing wage – Vaughn Group is doing the specs. Estimate $140,000.00.
  • Door outside men’s bathroom was replaced by Pennell
  • Cracks in the building on front of the firehouse

  • End of the Year Report has been certified by FO and President of the BOFC and has been submitted to Division. Think we have found the problem that was leasing to all of our lost inspection history over the last several years.
  • Received $28,162.56 1st Quarter LEA Rebate
  • Received $1794.00 Fire Zone Reimbursement July/August 2020
  • Received $105.00 Overtime Reimbursement Off- hour Imminent Hazard reopening inspection – Popeyes 899C St. Georges Ave.
  • 1 Imminent Hazard Order issued – TJ Maxx 903 St. Georges Ave.
  • 5-3-7 attended and passed tested training
    1. Physical evidence at Fire Scene 4 Hours
    2. Fire Flow Analysis 3 Hours
  • Station Village is now 100% complete, residential wise, only utility building remains without CO. All commercial tenants are occupied.
  • Schember Way is now a completely improved secondary means of ingress/egress to get to Station Village, off of Rahway Ave., just prior to the New School 4&5 location.
  • Map Books/Hydrants – Chris will look to do a full update in the spring as projects come to completion

  • Solar Panels Frank – Large amount of CO’s are still coming in during the winter months .

 

AYMAN ELBAYAR, FIRE CHIEF 2020 

  • Calls for the month of January
  • Member has requested for a 30 day leave of absence
  • Jerry Sternesky – light duty status
  • Volunteer Fire fighter has not made an engine out to a call they joined
  • Woodbridge Fire Dept. is supposed to let us use their FIT test machine.
  • Officers from Avenel and Colonia had a meeting to work out a few issues.
  • Establish protocol to set up Crisis counseling
  • Set up a meeting with the Pastor from the Presbyterian Church regarding fire scenes.

  

DAVID EIDSON, BUSINESS ADMINISTATOR

  • Tablets in Engines need to be updated to Windows 10. Might need to be sent out.
  • Steve Minue resigned from janitorial staff effective March 1, 2021.
